*early life

Freya’s mother was an archaeologist, who moved to Egypt from Norway for work. It was a classic case of falling in love whilst working in a different country and then staying there - though with her husband also being an archaeologist, they did actually move around. Freya stood no chance and was enveloped by history from the moment she was born.Initially she thought she would be a palaeontologist (and maybe she still isn’t fully out of that phase), but Freya found that she simply loved discovering any facts about the past. With her parents being who they were, she was filled with obscure Egyptology information from the youngest of ages and that perhaps drove her to become an archeologist herself.

*into the deep

Freya completed an archaeology degree at Oxford university. She worked on various digs around England and Scotland when she went on to complete a Masters', as well as a trip to France. She found the experience exhilarating - and eye opening. She had chosen to walk down the archaeological route out of a love of the past, but some people were lazy and didn't seem to actually understand or care about the history they were unearthing.Freya met Benjamin Docherty when she started her Masters' program. It was a whirlwind romance, passionate - and full of complaining about others on the course (on Ben's end), and ranting about the state of sites and work ethics (on Freya's end). They married a year after their Masters' was completed - and were divorced a year later.Benjamin was not a bad man, or that horrid. But he was judgemental. Overly critical. A bit of a narcissist. And when they were married, Freya realised how little they had in common. Though it was sad, it was a relief to divorce and was actually rather amiable. There is no ongoing contact.

Freya went on to work with various digs, primarily around African countries. She had some bad experiences - laziness was not just limited to students. But, she still enjoyed herself and strove to work harder. The gruelling work did pay off, and Freya has more recently led her own expeditions and written various papers.She has a talent for spotting forgeries from certain areas and timelines, and a good eye for value. As such, Freya currently works at a museum helping to set up exhibitions, ensuring items are real and legal, and translating ancient scripts.She still enjoys being in the field, and likes to travel to see new pieces and will assist on digs when possible.

Freya has no set look or style. She mainly goes for comfort over designer, though has rather lovely clothes for when she is "front of house" at the museum - such as hosting an event or tour.She has a wardrobe of clothes for her digs - head covering, gloves, long sleeves, short sleeves, trousers with padded knees...There's clothes for lazing around at home - mostly hoodies and sweatpants.Freya likes to be clean, but is not a clean freak. She couldn't be and remain comfortable on a dig site.Her nails are trimmed carefully, and she does not wear hand creams or perfume often. She won't use these things as it could damage the integrity of some of the items she handles in her work, as the oils from her own hand and skin, let alone creams and perfumes could cause valuable details to be lost.

Freya is more interested in the dead than in the living. She has nothing against people, and has a good group of friends. She just finds the dead tend to lie a little less and they just interest her more.Freya has a dangerous and reckless streak to her, and enjoys people who are similar. She won't put herself in life or death situations, but doesn't baulk at danger. To Freya, some things are more important than an injury - such as preserving life, whether it's skeletal life or the current living.

Freya isn't chatty, but can hold a conversation. She can be a little nosy at times, but is generally friendly and well-meaning. She doesn't like laziness, but realises that there are exceptions. Besides, she has rather poor time management on occasion, meaning she often puts some tasks to one side until later as well.Freya enjoys her career and that is her focus currently. She meets with friends regularly, all of them old school friends. She has hardly any new friends since leaving her postgraduate years, even though she has worked closely with people at the museum and on digs since. She can be intense, and a little rash, and her mind is focused on her next task rather than arranging times to be social.
